Not a celebrity dress that would be used in promoting a brand, yet it has inspired a trend in wedding dresses, we saw long lace sleeves remerge, and even full replicas. What this woman wore on this particular day was so important to so many people, everyone was watching and it had to be perfect.
The dress had to live up to wedding traditions, the lace represented 'something old' her 'borrowed,' her tiara from the Queen, and her 'something new', her earrings, a blue ribbon was sewn inside her dress for her 'something blue.'

To deconstruct this image, we need to observe what kind of image is being portrayed here. We see purity, elegance, beauty, power, femininity, tradition, honour.
Purity is represented by the white and ivory fabrics, the flow and drape of the fabrics signify a sense of soft elegance, the lace is delicate and fragile. The lace is a reference to other royal dresses where long lace sleeves were also used, thus keeping to a traditional royal style. The waist is synched and hips are padded to accentuate the feminine form, to make her figure more striking. And I must mention, the nine foot train, this screams decadence and wealth, in comparison to the dark rich shades of Westminster Abby it practically glows, it draws in the eye, and that's important, she needs to be seen.
